Year-Round Opportunities for High School Students

    Yale Urban Debate League

By teaching students debate skills, and providing a supportive environment for them to practice and improve, Urban Debate Leagues across the country ignite their passion for learning and empower them to succeed in college and career. Join Yale students in learning the art of debate! Every Tuesday, meet in the library at 2:15 pm to debate on interesting topics, make new friends, and learn new things.

    Yale Pathways to Science:

"With an overarching goal to encourage and support promising young scholars to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math, Yale Pathways to Science opens the door for middle and high school students to explore STEM at Yale University. The more than 1,900 Pathways to Science Scholars are considered the youngest members of Yale’s scientific community and are invited to Yale’s campus throughout the year for special events, academic lectures, demonstrations, laboratory visits, and research opportunities. Once accepted into the program, students are invited to attend more than 150 different programs and events annually, choosing to participate in the opportunities that interest them most. In the past, students have viewed the cosmos at Yale’s state-of-the-art planetarium, launched rockets, built telescopes, examined brain specimens with Yale neuroscientists, and much more. Please note that while a student must be a New Haven, West Haven, or Orange Public School  student in 6th-12th grade to be a Pathways to Science Scholar, there are numerous open-to-the-public events & programs that any K-12 student can attend!"

    Matriculate at Yale:

"We're undergraduates dedicated to advising high-achieving, low-income high school students through every stage of the college application process. Through one-on-one virtual meetings, we work on building college lists, identifying college fit, writing essays and supplements, constructing resumes, navigating scholarships and financial aid, and making a final enrollment decision. But, most importantly, we advise as students who just went through the college application process. We know how stressful, frightening, and exciting it can be!"

The applications for the 2024-2025 cohort are currently closed. Applications for 2025-2026 seniors will open in February!
