Middle College:
HSC has a unique partnership with GWCC in which we can offer Social justice-themed college courses taught by GWCC professors to a cohort of all-HSC students. Second-semester 9th Graders and above who have at least a 3.0 average, have demonstrated maturity and organization, and are recommended by their high school teachers in their core courses can apply for the HSC/GWCC Middle College Program. Students who are accepted to the Middle College program can earn 7 college credits, which will appear on their transcript and can be transferred to their college institution of choice at graduation.
College Before College:
11th (apply in the Spring of your 10th-grade year) and 12th-grade students who are demonstrating mastery (at least a 3.0 and above) in their high school courses as well as maturity and organization are welcome to inquire about taking an independent course at GWCC, SCSU, or Yale. Each university has different application requirements, which can be found
here.
