    Virtual Magnet School Expo 

    Saturday, February 1st 10 am - 2om at Wilbur Cross High School 

    The Office of School Choice & Enrollment will host a Virtual School Choice Expo on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 10 am until 2 pm.  This expo will provide students and parents an opportunity to explore the different magnet schools available in New Haven, gather information, and chat with school representatives.     School Choice Application Opens 

    Monday, February 3, 2025

    The School Choice application will be available at  8:00am for parents to complete the online application.  Applications are completed through the School Mint Website. Please click here for access. https://nhps.schoolmint.com/login

    To participate in our School Choice process, you must by submitting an on-time School Choice application. Our annual lottery application is available online. 

    Families have the opportunity to select six schools. 

    Please Note: Each school has a set capacity which cannot be exceeded. Therefore, your child may not be placed in one of your selected choices. New students to the district will be placed in a school with available seats.

    The application window is Monday, February 3, 2025 through Friday, March 7, 2025. 

     

    School Choice Application Deadline

    Friday, March 7, 2025 - 3:00 pm

    The application window closes on March 7, 2025 at 3:00pm. The portal will not be re-opened  for any reason so families are encouraged to ensure they are mindful of all deadlines.  

    After this provided deadline no applicant is permitted to ADD or REMOVE any school choices to their application portfolio. Applicants are able to withdraw their full application entirely.

     

     

    Initial Release of Placement Results 

    Once the results of our annual School Choice process are released starting on Monday, March 31, 2025, 5:00pm you will receive written notification of your child’s placement or waitlist position via email. Be sure to check your email on the published date that results are to be made available to students and families. Please read your placement letter very carefully and decide to accept or decline your child’s school offer by the decision date indicated on your letter. All placement decisions are final. 

     

    Registration: 

    If your child is new to New Haven Public Schools or not currently attending a New Haven Public School you must complete the district’s student registration process. We recommend completing the registration process online. You are able to submit all appropriate documents via the district's  online registration process.
