Social Emotional Learning Standards and Expectations
WCHS Learning expectations are aligned with New Haven Public Schools and CASEL Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Standards. NHPS believes that in order to succeed in the 21st Century, NHPS students will need skills beyond those assessed on state tests. Similar to the 21st Century Learning Competencies, our students will need self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and be able to make responsible decisions.
Governors will practice…

-
The abilities to understand the perspectives of and empathize with others, including those from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and contexts through social awareness.
-
The abilities to establish and maintain healthy and supportive relationships and to effectively navigate settings with diverse individuals and groups through relationship skills.
